EPISODE FOUR:
THE GERMS
by Edward Teach
This week finds Basil preparing for the biggest night at Fawlty
Rovers for some time. It involves a delivery of Shrimps from Essex
and a great chance to impress on Sybil that he really does have the
ability to take the staff for a grand showpiece at the Hilton in
Cardiff.
He is having some trouble with an errant moose head that has come
into his possession once again where he had thought it lost in a
Gloucestershire Aunt's attic. Now he has it back he is trying to
find a good spot to put it in. Unfortunately Sybil is telling him
that kind of thing requires money and all the petty cash is still
being demanded by O'Reilly so he can build the extension.
Germs are the order of the weeks gone by for poor Basil though with
several members of staff being struck down by all manner of bugs
and sniffles. Even Polly had to be sent home after throwing up twice
all over the green room as he tried to deal with the kippers. It
gave Basil no option but to engross himself with erecting the moose
head while the kippers slithered and flopped all over the dining
room before the Major whistled for the end of the meal and scoffed
the sorry lot. Sadly the moose fell on Basil's head as it was showing
just what a useful item it could be on the left wall of the green
room.
Poor Basil is now laid up in hospital with a bandage on his head
trying to come up with an answer to his headache and get back to
Fawlty Rovers in time to deal with the shrimps and appease Sybil's
latest tantrum.
