We've all read the statements
and stories about recent events at Rovers but they raise a number
of questions which, so far, have not been addressed by Geoff Dunford.
We ask him to contact us at editorial@gasheads.com to
answer the following and to clarify a few issues for all of us that
are asking questions:
1. Why were
Mike Turl’s proposals not heard at a full Board meeting?
2. What exactly were the “stringent conditions… which
were far more onerous than have been mentioned to date” attached
to Mike Turl’s financial commitment?
3. How did you, Barry Bradshaw and Ron Craig know how stringent or
onerous the conditions were when Mike Turl’s proposals were
never presented in full to the Board?
4. You state that the club have covered the financial commitment made
by Mike Turl. Where has this new funding suddenly come from and what
form does it take?
5. What conditions are attached to the new funding
mentioned above?
6. You have stated for a number of years that the club needs to
reduce its operating losses and achieve a break-even position.
In spite of this, the club has under your stewardship continued
to lose on average more than £500,000 a year. Mike Turl has
presented a clear plan for both getting to break-even and developing
the club as a whole. Given that you have rejected it, what is your
alternative plan for moving the club forward and eradicating operating
losses?
We don't think it is an understatement to say that if Gasheads
don't get answers to these questions quickly then the anger will
increase further so, Geoff, if you're reading then get in touch
and let us know what you've got to say.
